My personal favorite synastry aspects that create deep emotional bonds, attraction, and long-term compatibility!
Well hello there lovers. Ever wondered why some relationships feel instantly magnetic while others fizzle out? Synastry—the comparison of two birth charts—reveals the hidden chemistry between two people.

Hell is other people so said Sartre. Well, they can be with the right synastry! I don't know if Sartre studied astrology but if he did, he might reframe that mindset in relation to our charts. Over the years, I've studied and studied the aspects which make for a loving and reciprocale experience between two people. Here's what I found:
Venus trine Venus
Venus trine Venus is my number one relationship aspect to see in synastry! The trine needs to occur between the same elements and the closer the trine, the better. This aspect means you both align and share the same love language. It plays out as loving and generous energy. Now, the caveat I have found is this rule doesn't work the same for the sextile or conjunction. I think with the conjunction, you are just too similar and with the sextile, there is just too much contrast with differing elements. The trine aspect is impossible to ignore and feels so magical.
Jupiter conjunct DSC
Jupiter conjunct DSC is my second best aspect on this list. It might not be as flashy as Venus conjunct Mars, but it plays out as the Jupiter person expanding and enriching the life of the DSC person. Some believe that Jupiter represents the husband in a relationship, so it would stand that someone's Jupiter on your DSC line is husband material. At the very least, this person is just plain good for you as a person. They will bring joy, humor, travel, and all around bon temps.
Moon conjunct/trine/sextile Jupiter
Next up is Moon in aspect to Jupiter. I particularly love Moon trine Jupiter, but the conjunction is fabulous too. With Moon in trine to Jupiter, the Jupiter person brings sheer joy and positivity into the life of the Moon person. I think this works well when the Jupiter is a woman's, because your joie de vivre can get an otherwise stubborn Moon to open up. The Moon in a man's chart is his heart, so tapping into that is key!
Sun aspecting Venus
Another aspect that is impossible to ignore is Sun in any aspect to Venus. I like to see bounds within 5 degrees. The most powerful is the conjunction, but even the square seems to create deeply loving bonds between two people. In my opinion, the Sun person deeply loves and cares for Venus, desiring to shower Venus with affection and attention. Venus meanwhile enjoys this and bestows the Sun person with their charming, loving energy. It creates an infinite loop - the more the Sun person loves on Venus, the more Venus cherishes the Sun in a Yang (Sun) Yin (Venus) cycle.
Venus aspecting Jupiter
Like Sun aspecting Venus, Jupiter can be in any aspect to Jupiter to create a fantastic relationship. The best of the aspects is Venus conjunct Jupiter, but even the square and opposition are a blast. You will feel a deep amount of love for one another and have a lot of fun doing it! Travel, parties, good food, and deep laughs are all on the menu with this aspect. Jupiter expands whatever it touches, so when it comes together with Venus, it makes for expansive love, art, and luxurious experiences - especially travel!
Saturn trine/conjunct Venus
Last but not least, Saturn in positive aspect to Venus. With this aspect, you must make sure it's either trine or conjunct. Trine adds an easy longevity to the relationship, but the conjunction positively cements it, possibly for life. Saturn loves and worships Venus, seeing Venus as everything it wishes it could be. Saturn cares for and protects Venus, while Venus has the power to soften Saturn's otherwise austere demanor. I love seeing this aspect in synastry because it means you can go the distance in love.
